Add Mobile Payments for Line-Busting or Deliveries

Complement and Extend Existing Payment Systems by Adding Android and iOS Mobile Payment Processing

Retail Line-Busting or Deliveries

A larger retailer wants to integrate mobile payments into their existing POS process.  The retailer needs to add new mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) options so customers can seamlessly purchase products from customer service representatives walking the retail showroom (i.e., line-busting), and/or purchase products from delivery representatives bringing orders to customer locations.

Challenge

The retailer wants to add mobile payments options that allow customers to make real-time purchases, update inventory records as product purchases occur, and present customers with a consistent user experience when away from checkout lines or even away from the retail store itself.

The retailer has existing banking relationships and merchant accounts that their payment gateway partner must support.  The company needs a payment gateway that connects to the retailer’s processors, accommodating their existing financial and payment processing relationships.

Solution

Apriva delivers Android and iOS software development kits (SDKs) to readily integrate mobile apps with the Apriva Gateway for payment processing.  These SDKs allow the retailer’s developers to programmatically integrate payments into mobile apps running on Android or iOS devices which the retailer will use for line-busting and delivery transactions.

As part of its Gateway Integration Services, Apriva provides:

  • Android and iOS SDKs
  • Credentials to a gateway testing environment available 24/7
  • Validation and testing scripts
  • Partner Studio administration
  • Integration support via email and telephone

Further, the Apriva Gateway connects to some 30 certified processing platforms—including American Express, Chase Paymentech, Elavon, First Data, Heartland, Open Solutions, TPS/EVO, TSYS, Vantiv, and many more—allowing the retailer to process mobile transactions through their existing banking and merchant accounts.  This crucial capability makes it easier for the retailer to adopt the mPOS solutions as an extension (rather than replacement or addition) to their existing payment processes.

Once the retailer has completed their integration and transaction testing, Apriva will certify their mobile POS connectivity and grant access to the production gateway.

Results

Leverage Apriva’s multi-functional, technology-agnostic mobile commerce platform to accelerate time to market for mPOS solutions.

Through these services, retailers can write applications—in their chosen language—securely connecting to dozens of different payment processors supporting credit, debit, stored value, loyalty, and EBT transactions.  As a result, retailers can leverage one point of integration to deliver timely and relevant payment solutions for line-busting or deliveries.
