Mobile Apps Quickly Add Mobile Payments

Tightly integrate Android and iOS Apps with the Apriva Gateway™ for Payment Processing

Food Truck Vendors

An independent software vendor (ISV) has developed a food-truck mobile application for tablets and smart phones.  The app runs on both Android and iOS platforms, allowing food-truck owners to manage inventory and publish their menus and route schedules.  The ISV wants to integrate their app with the Apriva Gateway for secure payment processing, so customers can pay with credit cards at the mobile point of sale (mPOS).

Challenge

The ISV wants to incorporate mobile payments into their existing application, increasing their feature set for clients and updating inventory records as purchases occur.  The ISV needs a secure payment gateway that can seamlessly take card payments, either through manual entry or a peripheral card reader.  The ISV aspires to later add check, cash, and stored-value transactions to their app for expanded functionality and competitive differentiation.

Further, the ISV’s customers—the food-truck owners—may already have banking relationships and maybe even merchant accounts that the ISV’s software must support. The ISV needs a payment gateway that connects to as many different processors as possible, allowing the ISV’s mobile application to readily accommodate customers with existing financial relationships.

Solution

Apriva delivers Android and iOS software development kits (SDKs) to integrate mobile apps with the Apriva Gateway for payment processing.  These SDKs allow the ISV’s developers to programmatically integrate payments into their existing mobile app, presenting a consistent user experience within the original app.

As part of its Gateway Integration Services, Apriva provides:

  • Android and iOS SDKs
  • Credentials to a gateway testing environment available 24/7
  • Validation and testing scripts
  • Partner Studio administration
  • Integration support via email and telephone

Of key importance, the Apriva Gateway connects to some 35 certified processing platforms—including American Express, Chase Paymentech, Elavon, First Data, Heartland, Open Solutions, TPS/EVO, TSYS, Vantiv, and many more—allowing the ISV’s customers to process mobile transactions from any location using most any North American processor.

Once the ISV has completed their integration and transaction testing, Apriva will certify their mPOS connectivity and grant access to the production gateway.

Results

Leverage Apriva’s multi-functional, technology-agnostic mobile commerce platform to accelerate time to market for mPOS solutions.

Through these services, ISVs and other developers can write applications—in their chosen language—securely connecting to dozens of different payment processors supporting credit, debit, stored value, loyalty, EBT, and check transactions.  As a result, ISVs can leverage one point of integration to deliver timely and relevant payment solutions to their multi-screen mobile retail markets.
